Fall Couple’s Session | Shakespeare Pond Conservation Area Stratford, Ontario
I love a sunny session as much as the next photographer, but something about stormy weather just adds to a shoot! This may have set a new record for high speed photography as we wanted to beat the incoming thunderstorm - but the running around made it even more fun! That’s why we’re hesitant to reschedule for weather, this unpredictable day gave us the 20 minutes we needed complete with a moody sky. Never a dull moment at Shakespeare Pond!
Christmas Minis 2021 | Kroes Family Tree Farm Stratford, Ontario
Another year of shivering down, we managed to (mostly) avoid the rain and document some Christmas spirit! Our lovely hosts, the Kroes Family, provided the perfect backdrop complete with a bonfire. Thank you so much to everyone who came out this year, we’ll be back again next winter for more festive fun! Check out Kroes Christmas Trees, just outside of Stratford for your next family tree.
Golden Hour Engagement Session | West Perth Wetlands Mitchell, Ontario
I know I say in every blog post that the location is my favourite, but I mean it this time. The West Perth Wetlands are my absolute go-to for any type of session! When the wildflower fields are in full bloom, there’s no beating that as a backdrop while the sun sets. Who knew such a gem was hiding in Mitchell, Ontario? While I may be biased, I think this sunset was one of the best we saw in September - my favourite time of year for couples sessions!
Lifestyle Newborn Session | St. Mary’s, Ontario
Documenting growing families is one of the best parts of this job! I had the pleasure of her older brother being my first ever newborn client, but this little lady stole the show today. In-home newborn sessions are some of my favourites; they’re comfortable for everyone involved and go at a much slower pace. No rushing out the door with all your baby gear, no packing up siblings and you have everything you need handy for feeding breaks or outfit changes! Plus, what’s better than documenting the start of a new journey in the place where it’s happening - cozying up on the couch or laying in bed with your newborn instead of stiff posing and trying to keep them asleep.
Arboretum Park Maternity Session | Avon River Stratford, Ontario
One of my favourite hidden gems isn’t so hidden after all - Arboretum Park often gets overlooked by the rest of the riverside parks, but it sure has some of the best summer sun in town. If there’s one thing Stratford has an abundance of, it’s green space! These three had an absolute blast at their maternity session, families and little ones are always welcome here. Documenting pregnancy doesn’t need to be stressful or complicated, sometimes it can be just sitting in the grass with your toddler. It’s often the most simple images that turn out to be the favourites!
The Garden in Harrington | Oxford County Flower Farm
Just outside of both Stratford and St. Mary’s, The Garden in Harrington is the best kept secret in Oxford County! Offering bouquet subscriptions, wedding decor and an adorable roadside stand, their fresh flowers are bound to brighten up any space. During the warmer months, their terrace overlooking the flower fields serves as a gathering space to catch up with friends over tea - free of charge and available for reservations.
